Miscellaneous

We had the first alumni meeting of the Hatsuda group on Dec. 23rd, 2010.
Beginning with this years public lecture at the annual autumn meeting of the Japanese Physical Society, we are collecting our groups presentations geared toward the general public on our new outreach page.
We are honored that Prof. Nambu, Nobel laureate in Physics of 2008 and former graduate of The University of Tokyo was available to give a public lecture as part of the Nishina Memorial Lecture series at the YITP in Kyoto. Since his work in developing the theory of spontaneous symmetry breaking and toward a gauge theory for the strong interactions are milestones in the realm of modern quantum field theory, we were delighted to hear from him in person about “Symmetries and Symmetry-Breaking in the Laws of Nature”.

The accompanying Nishina Memorial Symposium also saw a distinguished list of attending physicist from Japan and abroad.
